A Splash of Colour
International channel, BBC Entertainment, serves an
eclectic audience of entertainment lovers throughout
Latin America, SE Asia, India, Poland and Africa. Three
idents were required to specify the genres: Drama,
Comedy and Light Entertainment. The channel's
contemporary, vibrant and sophisticated values
needed to be communicated in a universal manner that
was neither culturally nor geographically specific.
Using the elegance and simplicity of water fountains,
the idents are suitably modern and engaging.
Variations in sound, speed and shapes create a clear
yet subtle distinction between each genre whilst still
maintaining the overall theme of BBC Entertainment
